About me

I’ve been running for over 20 years, competing in everything from 200m track races to 110-mile ultramarathons. Running isn’t just something I do—it’s a huge part of who I am. I still train six days a week, race regularly, and continue to push my own limits with the support of a coach myself. I believe strongly that having the right guidance makes all the difference. Over the years, I’ve achieved podium finishes across a range of distances, with personal bests of 18:30 (5K), 37:50 (10K), 1:22 (Half Marathon), 2:58 (Marathon), and 27 hours for 110 miles. But more important than times is the experience I’ve gained—through success, setbacks, and everything in between.

I trained as a running coach in Iten, Kenya—home to some of the world’s best runners—and I’ve since worked with athletes of all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced competitors. Whether your goal is to finish your first race or chase a personal best, I’ll help you get there with a structured, supportive, and personalised approach. My background as an improvement coach in healthcare shapes how I work with runners. I focus on clear goals, consistent progress, and learning from both what goes well and what doesn’t. It’s not just about training harder—it’s about training smarter.

I also coach children’s football and cricket, which has taught me how to adapt my coaching style to suit different individuals—because no two runners are the same.

Outside of coaching, I’m a husband and dad of three boys. We spend a lot of time together as a family, and you’ll often find us outdoors or following Sheffield Wednesday. My wife Alison and I also host a weekly podcast, Running Partners, where we talk about all aspects of running in a relaxed, honest way.
